IAEA and INTERPOL collaboration on Security of Major Transportation Hubs

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) organized and implemented the Regional Workshop for Africa, on “Integrating Nuclear Security Applications in Major Transportation Hubs”, The workshop was hosted in Harare, Zimbabwe in cooperation with Radiation Protection Authority of Zimbabwe.

The National Security, law enforcement, Nuclear and Radiation Regulatory professionals from Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe through practical exercises, experience sharing and acknowledging the IAEA Nuclear Security Series guidelines exploring ways to integrate nuclear security detection processes into the existing law-enforcement, border security and customs “conventional” operations.

The workshop preparation and implementation was collaborated between the IAEA and the INTERPOL.
